The historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel has been the playground for Hollywood's elite since 1927. Skip ahead to July 22, 2009, when this iconic hotel became the playground for MPISCC's elite and hosted the Summer Networking Event.
Unlike most MPISCC meetings, this evening event was an hors d'oeuvres and cocktail style party. This format provided an opportunity for networking as well as exploring the gorgeous surroundings of one of the Thompson Hotel's premiere properties.
Upon entering the Blossom Ballroom (home of the original Oscars in 1929), I was in awe of the beautiful architecture. The attractive lighting on the faux second floor terrace as well as the contemporary lighting in the ceiling makes this one of the most unique ballrooms in the city. Of course it didn't hurt that Hey Mister DJ's Lee Dyson was spinning some pretty saucy tunes…including a personal favorite from Tom Jones.
Displayed around the perimeter of the room were showoff tables from The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, Starwood Hotels, Mexico, MGM Grand, and Blue Laser Digital, LLC. Contemporary lounge furniture vignettes gave guests a place to sit and catch up while at the same time sampling the fabulous food being tray passed.
This month, two awards were given out for July Rising Star and July Shining Star. The Rising Star award was given to Melissa Dyck from Abraxis BioScience, LLC, for her contributions and dedication not only to the Southern California Chapter, but to the Communications Committee as well. The Shining Star went to Jeff Anderson from Party Pals for his tireless effort on the Installation Event as well as always being a constant supporter and attendee of the MPISCC's events.
